Kayla Matye — Owner, Trainer & Riding Instructor

Kayla Matye is the owner, trainer, and instructor at EverRain Stables in Rosemount, Minnesota, where she has created a calm, welcoming environment for both horses and riders. With a Bachelor’s degree in Equestrian Studies – Therapeutic Riding, Kayla blends professional training with genuine compassion, offering a thoughtful and individualized approach to horse care, training, and instruction.

Kayla has worked at respected equestrian facilities across Oregon, Montana, and Minnesota, gaining hands-on experience in reining, working cow horses, western pleasure, and English equitation. She has spent years starting young horses, developing soft, willing equine partners through patient groundwork and consistent training methods.

She is equally passionate about helping riders grow, offering supportive, confidence-building instruction for beginners through advanced riders.

At EverRain Stables, Kayla’s mission is simple: to provide safe, high-quality horse boarding, professional training, and personalized riding lessons in a positive, community-focused environment. Her goal is to ensure that horses are happy, riders keep learning, and every person who walks into the barn feels like part of the EverRain Stables family.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Werner — Riding Instructor

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Werner has spent more than 15 years immersed in the horse world, riding both Western and English disciplines. Her experience ranges from rodeoWSCA showing, and competitive events to everyday horsemanship and trail riding. At EverRain Stables, Lizzie brings her passion and experience to her role as a beginner western riding instructor, helping new riders discover the joy and confidence that comes from working with horses.

Lizzie teaches on her trusted lesson horses, Cole and MissT—steady, reliable partners who help students learn the fundamentals of safety, balance, and horsemanship. Her teaching style is rooted in patience, clarity, and connection. She focuses on helping riders build trust with their horse, develop confidence in themselves, and understand how to work as a united team.

Her love of horses began at a young age. Lizzie purchased her first horse, Cole, at just ten years old using money she saved on her own—a moment that set the foundation for her lifelong dedication to horsemanship. Her passion and work ethic later earned her the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Minnesota 2016, and today, that same enthusiasm shines through in every lesson she teaches.

Lizzie is excited to welcome new riders to EverRain Stables and to help them build a strong, positive foundation in western riding.
